Assessments at GHS Middle School

GHS uses a range of strategies and tools to assess individual learning. Assessment practices are reviewed regularly considering the IB Program, NGSS, and the syllabus in the middle school. Teachers use a variety of assessment tools to help them systematically identify, monitor, and track the learning needs of their learners. Teachers use both formal and informal assessment techniques to measure learning these include:

  • Teacher Developed Diagnostic Assessments
  • Formative Assessments
  • Summative Assessments
  • Portfolios

MYP Assessment Criteria Achievement Levels

Learners may complete units of work that cover one or more of the four assessment criteria for that discipline. The MYP uses the 0-8 scale to assess each Objective. Teachers consider all aspects of the learner’s performance (the body of evidence) when reporting on the achievement level and/or the overall level.
