Welcome from Head of School
I am thrilled to welcome you to Golden Hills School as I begin my journey as Interim Head of School for the 2025–2026 year. From the very first moment I stepped onto campus—meeting our bright students, passionate educators, supportive families, and dedicated board—I knew GHS was something truly special.
Golden Hills is more than just a school; it’s a joyful, tight-knit community where children are known, challenged, and inspired every day. You can feel the energy here—whether it’s in a classroom discussion, on the playground, in an art studio, or during a community event. It’s the kind of place you have to see to believe.
For over 30 years, GHS has provided a dynamic and balanced JK–8 education rooted in academic excellence, character development, and a deep commitment to the whole child. Our small class sizes, dedicated teachers, and vibrant curriculum ensure that every student is seen, supported, and stretched to their full potential.
We are proud to be dually accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). We are also an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, offering the Middle Years Program (MYP)—a globally respected framework that emphasizes inquiry, reflection, and global thinking.
What makes GHS stand out?
- A joyful, nurturing JK–8 model that allows students to grow with confidence and continuity
- Engaged, articulate students who are excited to learn and eager to lead
- A balanced curriculum that blends academics, arts, athletics, and character education
- A faculty of inspired educators who truly know and care about each child
- A community where parents are active partners—supporting through time, talent, and heart
- A shared belief that learning should be meaningful, hands-on, and even a little magical
At the core of our school are our Core Values: Integrity, Respect, Compassion, Teamwork, Responsibility, Self-discipline, Citizenship, and Perseverance. These aren’t just words—they shape who we are and how we learn together.
Golden Hills School has been named the best private school in the area for 13 consecutive years—and once you visit, you’ll understand why. I warmly invite you to come experience it for yourself. See our students in action, feel the positive energy on campus, and discover what makes GHS such a remarkable place to learn and grow.
I look forward to connecting with you and to a wonderful year ahead!
Warmly,
Kimberly Waite, Ed.D.
