Ms. Mirhaj began her teaching career in Vancouver, Canada, and has over twenty years of educational experience. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Victoria, her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of British Columbia and her Master of Education degree, with a specialty in Curriculum and Instruction and in Leadership, from the University of British Columbia. Throughout her educational career, she has served in several administrative positions including as an Educational Team Leader and as an Instructional Coach.

Ms. Mirhaj moved to California in 2008 to begin her life with her husband, Kam, and they had a baby boy, Arya, in August of 2012 and a baby girl, Ariana, in November of 2014. Upon her arrival in California, she obtained a California Administrative Credential, as well as a California Cross-Cultual Language and Academic Development Certificate. She was soon hired as an Instructional Coach with the Twin Rivers Unified School District.

In 2010, she was hired as an Associate Administrator at GHS with the duties of a Vice-Principal. Since her arrival at GHS, she has also served as Admissions and Marketing Director, Middle School Director, Technology Director, Facilities Director and the Characters of Gold Development and Coordinator. In 2014, Ms. Mirhaj was promoted to Head of School.

Ms. Mirhaj believes that education is about teaching students, not subjects. Every student is unique and contributes a great deal to the wealth of knowledge existing in every classroom. She considers one of her strengths to be her strong commitment to working with colleagues, students, and parents in building a common vision that fosters character development in each child, improves student achievement and creates an atmosphere that enriches articulate and independent thinkers.

She is honored to be serving as the Head of School and looks forward to continuing her work with students, parents, staff, the Board of Trustees and the community to ensure the continuation of the top quality education and services offered at Golden Hills School.
