Golden Hills School, nestled in the heart of El Dorado Hills, is a premier not-for-profit private institution dedicated to nurturing young minds from Junior Kindergarten through 8th grade. As the only private school in the county to offer an accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) middle school program, Golden Hills School provides a rigorous curriculum designed to challenge students, often allowing them to work up to a year ahead in their academic skills. With small class sizes of 22 or fewer, each child receives personalized attention, ensuring a supportive and engaging learning environment. How do I apply to GHS?
GHS operates on a "rolling admissions'' basis and generally applications are considered in the order in which they were received. The admissions process includes an application with a $25 non-refundable fee, report cards from the past two years including teacher comments, and standardized test scores. How much is the tuition at GHS?
Tuition at GHS is as follows:
- JK half day: $1,017/month
- JK full day: $1,520/month
- K-5th: $17,190/year
- 6th-8th: $17,500/year
Kindergarten through 8th grade families have the option to pay in 1, 2, or monthly payments. Monthly payments include a $30 monthly billing fee. In addition, there is a $950 enrollment fee ($500 for JK) with discounts available for additional students. Financial aid is available.
What is the International Baccalaureate (IB) program?
The International Baccalaureate (IB) program is a globally recognized educational framework known for its rigorous academic and personal standards, emphasizing critical thinking and intercultural understanding. Does GHS provide before or after school care?
Golden Hills offers care both before and after school with our exceptional staff. Parents can drop their children off as early as 7:30 a.m., while extended day care is provided from the end of school until 6:00pm five days a week. The cost is $10/hour and families are billed at the end of each month.
What athletics are available at GHS?
Besides daily PE for students in Kindergarten and above, GHS offers a variety of extracurricular sports including volleyball, basketball, soccer, flag football, cross country and track and field.
Is GHS an accredited school?
We are so honored and proud at GHS to have three accreditations tied to our amazing school: California Association of Independent Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, as well as being an International Baccalaureate World School! This is an incredible feat and speaks to the exceptional standards of quality in terms of faculty qualifications, curriculum, facilities, and student services.
