Elizabeth brings to the GHS community a well-rounded perspective based upon her education and previous experiences. Born and raised right here in El Dorado County, Elizabeth married her high school sweetheart in 1992. Together they have four daughters, three sons-in-law, and six grandkids.
She worked at the private school that she and her husband sent their daughters to. First as an Administrative Assistant and later as the high school teacher in a self-contained 9th-12th grade class. During this time, she also returned to college and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor Degree in Business Management.
In 2007, she began working as an Accounting Specialist for the El Dorado Union High School District. Seeing her potential, the EDUHSD Business Director and the Chief Business Official (CBO) offered to sponsor Elizabeth through an intensive 2 year CBO mentor-based education program. This program, led by the Deputy Superintendent (retired), was offered by the California Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) and is recognized in the education community as a leading program for school specific business officer education.
Shortly after completing the program in May, 2010, she came to work for GHS. Her areas of responsibility include budget and finance, human resources, and facilities. She had to leave for one year for personal reasons, but is excited to be back working with the staff and families she cares so deeply about.
She has been the parent struggling to pay the private school tuition; the teacher in the classroom; and the administrator overseeing the school’s budget– these three very different experiences are what give her the global perspective necessary to efficiently run the GHS Business Office.
Her goal as Business Officer can best be summarized by these words from her mentor CBO, "I find Elizabeth to be an exemplary professional with a strong commitment to honesty and integrity…she always remains focused on the Big Picture - Doing the Right Thing for Students and Staff."
