What is Golden Hills School Extended Day and Enrichment?
Golden Hills School Extended Day and Enrichment is an extension of a regular school day at Golden Hills School. Engaging activities, games and projects will be implemented daily involving art, computers, math, reading, science, sports, writing and more. A safe environment will be insured through well-supervised activities.
What is the difference between "Extended Day" and "Enrichment"?
Extended Day is the extension of Golden Hills School supervised and implemented by Golden Hills School staff members. Enrichment includes a variety of additional programs supervised and implemented by Golden Hills School staff and outside staff alike. Separate fees apply to these programs as they are not guided under Extended Day; however, they are available on-site at Golden Hills School. Please see postings for Enrichment activities each trimester for further information.
How much does Extended Day and Enrichment cost ?
Please see the Registration and Billing Information sheet for detailed information regarding the cost of Extended Day. Enrichment programs have separate fees. Both registration and billing will be separate as well.
Do we need to commit to one of the plans listed for an entire trimester ?
Golden Hills School recommends registering for plan A, B or C to schedule accordingly for the period of time specified. In doing so, the cost is covered by the deadline and no payments need to be made until the next trimester (as long as no late arrival fees occur). Plan D is designed for children whom may wish to attend Extended Day on an irregular basis. Please choose a plan that best fits your family's schedule.
Who may attend Extended Day and Enrichment ?
Any Golden Hills School K-8 grade student may enroll and participate in the Extended Day and enrichment at Golden Hills School. Each Enrichment program may have additional regulations regarding age and grade level restrictions as well as a limitation in the number of participants allowed. Please seek further information for these programs individually.
Where do I go when I need to collect my son/daughter from Extended Day and Enrichment ?
Upon registration, you will receive an updated schedule with a list of activities for each day of the week for the trimester with locations and times of where the group will be.
Will snacks be provided at Extended Day and Enrichment ?
Snacks must be provided by the parent or guardian for each child attending Extended Day and Enrichment each day the program runs.
How do I register my child ?
Please complete the Registration and Billing Information sheet by the due date for each trimester with your payment. Payments can be completed in the Golden Hills School Office.
Can I register more than one of my children ? Do we receive a discount ?
Yes. You may enroll any or all of your Golden Hills School children in grades K-8 in the Extended Day and Enrichment program. At this time a discount will not be issued for enrolling more than one child.
May I pick-up my child without communicating with a Golden Hills School Extended Day and Enrichment staff member ?
No. Each day the Extended Day and Enrichment programs are in session, the acceptable parent or guardian listed on the registration form must sign-out his/her child with initials. This is to ensure the safety of the child and to document the time in which the child was picked-up. Late arrival fees may apply when the child is not picked-up by the specified time for his/her plan.
What are the dates of the trimesters ?
Fall 2009 (1st trimester): August 17, 2008 -November 6,2009
Winter 2009 -2010 (2nd trimester): November 9, 2008 -February 26,2009
Spring 2010 (3rd trimester): March 1, 2009 -May 28,2009
How do I contact Extended Day and Enrichment ?
Please direct all inquiries to Ariel Ray, Lead Supervisor of Extended Day and Enrichment at Golden Hills School.
