Girls Volleyball Headed For League Tourney PDF Print E-mail

The GHS girls volleyball teams ended the regular season with matches at Herbert Green Middle School.  The 8th grade squad suffered their 1st loss of the season in an epic three game match.  It was nip and tuck throughout the match with GHs winning the 1st game 25-20.  Herbert Green pulled out the win in the 2nd game 25-20.  In the 3rd and final game of the match Herbert Green was able get a few breaks their way which led them to victory.  They finished the regular season 8-1.

The 7th grade team played a good game, but were a bit over matched by a talented Herbert Green squad.  They finished the regular season at 4-4 and look to do well in the league tournament.

The season ending tournament is Saturday, October 3rd at Golden Sierra High School in Garden Valley.  Please make some time to watch these girls go for the championship.

Both the 7th and 8th grade girls volleyball teams have 2 games remaining on the regular season schedule.  To this point in the season the 7th grade team is 4-2 with 2 games to play.  The 8th grade squad remains undefeated at 7-0 with 2 crucial games left to play.  Both teams play Georgetown school on Tuesday, September 29th and Herbert Green Middle School on Thursday, October 1st. 

The season ending tournament is scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd at Golden Sierra High School.  This has been quite an exciting season for both squads.  Thanks for all of your support throughout the season.

Girls Volleyball Win Again - Tame Northside Bears PDF Print E-mail

volleyballBoth GHS girls volleyball teams won their 2nd consective matches on Thursday, September 3rd.  They travelled to Cool to play the Northside School Bears.  The JV team won their match 2-0.  Great serving and rally play were keys to the win. 

The Varsity team won 2-1 in one of the most exciting and well-played games you will ever see at this level.  Both teams were equally matched and either team could have won.  Our girls used great volleys, fine serving and overall good teamwork to eke out the win.
